At the end of July 2011, I spoke at a conference on homosexuality and one of the other speakers is a neurologist named Dr. Nicki.  Among other things, she spoke on the issue of sex, pornography, and addiction, and she put together a few resources with which to inform her audience about the significant issues that she was discussing:

  1. When looking at how brains affect behaviour and how behaviour affects brains, Dr. Nicki mentioned a book named  “The Brain that Changes Itself” by Norman Doige.  Doige is not a Christian, but offers some terrific comment on how behaviour is not all predetermined by brain (and vice versa);
  2. A resource list on sexual addictions and Internet pornography for people struggling.
  3. Psychologist Dr. Patrick Carnes.
